The Hunter: Origins and Omens.

This is something that I wrote while bored at work. Scenes from Billy Bishop's past and future. It was written on my phone (as most rp things are). There's going to be one coming for Adam. But it's more involved and much longer.

He was young. Way too young for what William Bishop III had in mind for his teenaged son.

"William, he's only thirteen years old," Deanna Bishop scoffed. They'd had this conversation many times over the past few weeks after their son entered his teenage years and she wasn't particularly interested in having it again.

"I was about his age my first time. I don't want my son to grow up to be a pussy." The Bishop men were all rich and powerful people. "He's ready for his first hunt."

Deanna just sighed.

"AHHHHHH!"

A wide-eyed Billy Bishop ran as fast as teenage body could carry him through the moonlit reserve that served as a training ground for the future hunter. His body had recently experienced his growth spirt, awkward and uneasy as he stumbled over fallen branches that lay all over the forest floor.

All he could hear behind him was the growling and snorting of the werewolf that William Bishop III captured earlier to use as a test of manhood for his only son. Things... weren't going so great.

"Oh God, oh God, oh God." Billy felt like his heart was going to explode. He was absolutely terrified. All of the training went out the window once he was actually being chased by the drooling, snarling monster. He'd actually been really excited for this trip. It was a chance for him to prove that he was a man, instead he just freaked out.

He yelped when the werewolf finally jumped into his back, slamming him face first into the dirt. Billy was pinned, he thrashed and struggled to no avail. "Please..."

A loud crack rattled throughout the area. The nearly feral form of the large werewolf slumped lifelessly on top of Billy, doing nothing to sate his utter horror at being attacked by a werewolf. He yelled once he realized the animal (person?) on top of him was dead. Billy pushed himself out from underneath and scrambled away and right into his father. The man clucked his tongue disapprovingly at his son's dismal failure.

"You screw the pooch on this on, son," he chuckled lightly once he realized the unintentional joke he just made. "Or not, I'd reckon. You know your dad ain't always going to be there to clean up your screw ups."

Billy stared at the floor. "I know, sir. I'm sorry, sir."

William Bishop III stared at his son and sighed. This was supposed to be the kid that was going to carry on the legacy of the Bishop name. At his age, William was pulling in monsters twice the size of this. "You need to grow up, Billy."

Vera'd said that to him when they broke up a few weeks ago for what seemed like the twentieth time since they'd started their very complicated relationship years ago.

They were two very impulsive, stubborn people that loved each other so very much but never seemed to be in the same place at the same time. She was busy most of the time running her vigilante team; devoting her energy to that while Billy continued building his empire. He'd been long gone from Night Watch after Vera blew up at his use of a gun while on a mission for her. They broke up after that, of course and didn't even talk for the better part of a year, the both of them too stubborn to admit fault.

A hunt took Billy to the streets of New York when one of the Seven Sins of Man escaped its prison in Hell and pushed the two lovers together again. They apologized to each other, said things would be different. They lied to each other and themselves, holding on so tight to their feelings. But she'd changed, matured with the responsibility that came with running her own team. But he was the same old Bishop. He was fun, a good man in ways, but still so immature in others.

They fought, as they always did. So she left again, with those choice words for him. Those same words he heard all that time.

He put the bottle of Jack Daniel's to his lips and took a swig. It was usually his drink of choice after their break-ups, but this time he spit it out all over the floor. The drink tasted awful, bitter. Not right. All he was doing was falling into bad habits again.

He walked into his bathroom to grab a dirty towel off the floor to clean up his mess. As he reached down, his long hair got into his face. Once he stood up with the towel in hand, he brushed his hair back out of his face. He had that same, wild mess on top of his head that he had since he was a teenager.

Before he could even realize what he was doing, he clicked on a set of clippers and let their hum of the blades fill the silence of his place. It took longer than he thought it would to cut through, giving himself plenty of times to think about him and Vera. After the hour long fight his hair was gone.

It was the first major change in a long time. He looked different. He felt different. He was nervous and excited. But it wasn't enough for him. He wasn't ever a person that did anything half-assed. If he was going to make some changes, they'd be drastic ones.

He went digging into his closet for something, ruining the carefully organized racks that the maid laid out for him. Finally, he found the very well hidden treasure, a small box, covered in velvet.

Shoving it into his jacket pocket, he was already out the door when he dialed that number he knew by heart.

"Hey Vera. Can we meet up? I got something I gotta ask you about."

So I took a "nap" at like 8 (sorry for falling sleep on you Wes and Rae!) and then woke up at 12. I have been going for the past 3 hours just poking around at things. I feel crazy right now.

OH YEAH I TOTALLY FUCKING HIT 30K FOR RPWRIMO+ SATURDAY AFTERNOON. I'M A FUCKING G. SUCK IT, NERDS!

We got two new players at Earth's Mightiest! I am so excited. They are nicer than all of you who haven't joined. Because clearly they love me while you jerks do not.

Another thing, I got to game jumping thanks to Kati's RP history thing. There are a whole bunch of games and characters that I miss that I would love to play again. But that will probably never happen :(. Unrelatedly... lord I am just dying at Batman's weekly on duty posts at Metrotower. That is so much commitment to a bit, I am really floored by it. I should come up with a bit like that for EM.

edit Working on something pointless in GIMP that looks really lame. Oh well! You guys will probably see the finished product tomorrow. Going to sleep now.

Something you might not know: I love sleeping with all my clothes on. It's one of my favorite things.

Apparently Minka Kelly's IMDb page has been terrorized and they invented a Power Ranger character that makes no sense, and spent super long tagging her in a bunch of episodes. So fucking weird.

1) Now that Trish has been temporarily Tony Destro'd™ and banned from the lunch table, she is going to have to have herself a seat with the Science Sluts®. So I ask those of you with Science Sluts (+ their boys), how will you react to the new addition to the table? I have a mini-narrative I want to write, but I don't think that will happen. Since all the narratives I plan don't actually happen.

2) Speaking of Trish, Sarah I need to do a log with you I think.

3) Talking to Nat, we have decided that it's hilarious that Andy is friends with Adam and Sally, because they are so lame and un-hip. I have no idea why he doesn't throw a kickball at their faces. Ironically, of course.

4) Xandros is very much looking forward to his not-date with Phoebus. He might even do something with that mop on his head. Raina when you are done with your hiatus, we should discuss. It's also hilarious to me that he didn't realize no one knew he was gay. Oh well, everyone knows now.

5) Billy is not too upset with Erik for what he did. I'm not sure if this is a bad thing that he's not more pissed at him. He's trying to have Erik's back at least, since a lot of their friends are going to be hating at him. I guess he and Rob have something else in common.

6) Very close to hitting the Lou Lopez RPWRIMO Run-off Challenge©. I just have a little over a thousand words to go. I am very excite. Hopefully I will hit that today or tomorrow. I have a narrative for the ~~Gollums~~ Tonies that I must write, and a log for Nat that I must tag. So things look pretty good there.

7) It is almost 3 a.m. I have no good reason why I'm up except that I was watching FNL (love the new characters, except stupid Becky), and then Nat imed me when i was about to go to bed. And I am a sucker. This post is so retarded.

So, rpwrimo.

I did not make the goal, but I felt that I did a whole butt-load of writing this month. That was very good for me to try. I've noticed that my writing has gotten a lot better, and it's easier for me to write more. In most writing forms I take on, I'm always an extremely concise writer. Essays, fiction, etc. Which was the entire point of the exercise. I got very close, though with 25,868. I'm very proud of this! The breakdown is here.

I probably would have made it if I kept a running word-count, but I didn't want to turn it into a thing where I would just massage my writing just to make my word limits. There's also the fact that I basically fell off the last week of November.

Maybe next time, eh?

* is a handful for the parentals. or was. he's free! no more high school!
* I was thinking he comes from parents that split up when he was tween/early teen's? he got a step dad he didn't like and started getting really angry that his parents couldn't stick together. STEP FAMILY SUCKS.
* i'm looking for a family member. sibling (full, half, step), aunt/uncle, whatever. otherwise he's going to be another one of those orphan kids that are kinda on their own. they should form a support group!
* he of course doesn't think he'd need that sort of support. he can handle it on his own ok thanks!
* a bit of a punk. likes to prove how he's hot shit. he will fight you just to show how badass he is.
* he probably needs some sort of therapy to get rid of his rage.
* he's competitive. He is very much into working out and playing his favorite sport: football!

* gabriel joseph vargas; age: 28(?); call sign: zorro
* has been in the USAF for about five-six years after doing rotc for two years. ...I'm not sure what to do about his rank.
* born and raised in los angeles; mom, dad, younger sister.
* family wasn't particularly wealthy, but they did okay.
* he did pretty well in high school, with aims to be the first person in his family to go to college.
* none of his immediate family belonged to the military, it wasn't something that he'd ever considered seriously. One time he mentioned it as a way to pay for college and his parents shut that down real quick.
* was accepted and went to college at csu san diego. he let himself get caught up on being away from home and got into the party scene. his grades were not great and he ended up leaving school after two semesters.
* gabriel moved back home and worked for a few months to get his head back on straight. he tried school again, going to the much-closer-to-home csu long beach. he still felt a little aimless, but his grades were much better this time around!
* with two years of school to go, gabriel really needed to start looking to the future but was having problem. at a larger family get-together, he started talking to one of his second cousins who was actually in the air force. he liked what he heard.
* he got him in touch with an on-campus recruiter after that. he signed up for the schools' rotc.
* at the age of 22, he graduated from college and went directly to the air force as an officer, looking to be a badass fighter pilot.
* he can be a bit of a cocky fuck when he's not in the sky. but, when he's in that cockpit he's all business. he has a healthy respect for authority and love for his squad. there's no way that he's going to do anything that will jeopardize their lives.
* lol lady pilots. it's pretty cute.
* he was a good enough pilot that he was was pulled from his squad and found himself being trained on some crazy alien jets. (?)
* he will probably not be happy that his squadron is going to be split up to make room for all these rookies. they will most definitely need to prove that they can even be half as good as the men that zorro had bonded with.

* grew up in the midwest, has spent the last few years living in New York City.
* he really enjoys music. singing and playing.
* was a good little catholic. he was an altar boy and was in the choir and all that stuff. he's fallen though, hard.
* used to be a bit of a square when he was younger. he didn't get into trouble or drink or do anything. hell, he didn't lose his virginity until he was 18. at prom, to a long term girlfriend, of course.
* he had dreams of being a huge music artist. Was voted "Most Likely to Win American Idol" at his old school.
* moved to new york against his parents wishes, where he attended college. his parents didn't want to support his life, so he basically had to work multiple jobs to support himself.
* he kind of fell into bartending. the money was good, and it seemed like it could be a good way to network.
* life got increasingly tough for caleb, he got beat down pretty bad emotionally and left behind his former optimistic personality, giving way to a more cynical Caleb.
* he started doing drinking and gambling.
* at one of his lowest points, he had his world rocked by this amazing girl who was pretty much the most perfect thing he'd ever met.
* caleb was less morose!
* they probably got engaged a couple months before the start of the game. they got separated in all the craziness. he's really been torn up trying to find her.
* he works as a bartender again in hopes that the large amount of traffic it gets--depressed people drink!--might give him some good news about his fiancee.

2) Earth's Mightiest still has a butt-ton of characters that I'd love to see get played. Once again, it's a really accessible Classic Avengers game with street heroes and Young Avengers thrown in for good measure. Check it out, or tell people who might be interested to check it out.. I'll be your best friend*!

3) I've kinda been doing RPWRIMO, but not in an official capacity. I'm just trying to do more writing (narratives!) in general. I should probably do more logs, since I haven't really been doing that lately. So this is my solicitation for that if anyone wanted my characters for anything. I have some scenes lined up, but not too many, particularly in Neopolis.

So I had a pretty special Halloween last night. Made the mistake of trying jungle juice. Threw up a lot and then passed out at around midnight. Good times.

My costume was pretty sick though. We also had a Link from Legend of Zelda, Chris Redfield from Resident Evil, a bunch of cowgirls, a group of Teenage Mutant Ninja Tursluts, Johnny Bravo, and more! The best one was my friend dressing up as a ghetto Papa Smurf. I wish I had a picture of that.

So much of her identity is wrapped up in that whole cyborg thing that I think this situation will bug her until she starts flying and smiting people.I think she might be a little irritated that Joe is running around being a cyborg sell-out. Though I think he's going to have better things to do than having to deal with her bitching about nonsense. Though Trish would argue they were worse things!

Xandros is going to be very upset that his tether to his God is going to be severed. I still haven't decided if his physical adaptations to living unda da sea are going away too. I guess that is up to whatever Julie wanted to do with Renfield. Xan honestly won't do much with Alyster's powers. Science in Atlantis works differently so while Xandros might understand the science, he doesn't 'get' it.

Okay so my first idea didn't go over too well. We're going to try to do something else here. First of all, check out the timeline, I added some more stuff stuff to it, and moved things around. I've also got a doc with the timeline floating around, so if you want to add important events for your character to it, you are more than welcome, just let me know and I will add you in.

THE PLOT: The Raft Breakout - Earth's Mightiest Prologue
WHEN: In-game, roughly a month before the official start of the game. Let's not be too persnickety here.
WHERE: The Raft a super-maximum security prison located adjacent to Ryker's Island, itself a maximum security penitentiary. The Raft houses the most dangerous super-criminals, those that have been taken down by Spider-Man, Daredevil, even the Avengers themselves. It has 8 underground cell blocks, the more dangerous criminals are housed on the bottom floor. The prison is filled to the brim with security, no one is allowed in and out without high levels of clearance from SHIELD.
WHAT: - Matt Murdock has been asked by SHIELD to help work out a plea bargain with the Tinkerer. His particular brand of talent is needed by SHIELD for some super-secret project. Standard protocol is a SHIELD agent must accompany any civilian in, so--awkward--Black Widow is assigned to watch him. Matt brings whatever Heroes for Hire that are available to protect Foggy in case something happens.

- Electro gets himself onto the Raft, and with help of some MGH, siphons power from the Raft, causing a massive blackout that shuts down most of Manhattan Island and more importantly the security system on the Raft. The light show will be pretty brilliant, pointing all available superheroes to join the fight and help quell this riot. Any former Avengers will be receiving calls to come help. It's going to be a slobberknocker, folks.

- Cap, Thor and Iron Man are going to come together and decide that maybe it's time for the Avengers to come back.
WHO: Iron Man (me), Captain America (NPC), Daredevil (NPC), Iron Fist (me), Hawkeye (me), Black Widow (Nat), Crystal? (Elena), Mockingbird (Wes), more to be added as I get apps in.

LOTS of supervillains. A good chunk are those that were involved with the hit on the Avengers that led to their disbanding (those are *'d). I am just going to be listing the most important ones.
Electro - A classic Spider-Man villain. He's going to be the man that makes this massive jailbreak happen. Spider-Man is not going to be happy that one of his did this.
* The Wrecking Crew - A group of four super-powered thugs with enchanted weapons that put them on the same level as Thor...almost.
Mr. Hyde - Daredevil villain. He has super strength and was actually put in the Raft by the Young Avengers. He will not be happy to see them again.
Purple Man - Sick, sadistic man with the power of hypnotic control over people. He might not be a great fighter but he has proven to be pretty dangerous to Jessica Jones and Daredevil in the past.
* Absorbing Man and Titania - Married criminal couple. Absorbing Man takes on the properties of whatever he touches. Titania is just as strong as her archnemesis, She-Hulk.
* Hydro-Man, Blackout, Moonstone, Goliath, Fixer, Grey Gargoyle, Whirlwind, Radioactive Man, Klaw- People involved in the attack on the Avengers mansion.

Hey guys.

Soooo I still haven't seen too much movement on the app front from a bunch of you guys. I understand we've all got stuff going on, but I can't really start a game with few characters. It has been suggested to me that I set a concrete date for apps to be in, and I agree that it will probably be a better idea to have that.

The deadline for apps is October 12th, it should be a good amount of time for everyone to get their apps in. After that date, all holds will be expired and free game for other people to app. The game will start the weekend of the 23rd if all goes well.

We cool? Go ahead and comment letting me know you've seen and read this and we're all cool. If you aren't interested anymore, please let me know so I can free up the characters.

I dunno why I always do these memes by order of in-game acceptance but I do.

TONY: He was my main plot horse and then after timesplosion...nothing. I had a bunch of ideas for this guy but I pretty much pushed them all to term 3 so last term sucked for him. But anyway he is going to be experiencing a split personality. Tiny Anthony has been having it way too good (for him) lately and has been spending less time as Alpha, Alpha doesn't like being frozen out. So he will start popping up while Anthony goes to sleep and doing evil ass shit. At school and Neopolis proper. I'm going for a Hulk riff on this one, which brings me to needing a Betty Ross... I talked to Sarah and Amy seems like the most obvious point of attraction for Anthony/Tony so she might find herself kidnapped.

If I can figure out how to make the end happen like I want to, we will see an epic Alpha fight at the end of the term. I have some ideas and it could turn out to be pretty big.

On a more personal front, Tony has friendships with Amy and Ivy and Tiny Anthony with Jessi and Amy. There is also Dethklok stuff possibly going on as well as nascent friendships with the ELE kids and maybe Johnny J again? Who knows! I need to remember to send stuff out about Destro Island party, it got pushed back into the term because of my Disneyland trip.

ADAM : Adam is still dying. Sorry but fate can't be changed or some shit. So he is going to be going around trying to fulfill a bucketlist that I haven't typed up yet. Most of his "plot" will just be interpersonal interactions wrt that. I'm not sure if he should make a bigger thing about the Janelle snub than the zombie thing. He probably wouldn't though. That is not his style. He is cruising for a new girl though. Or at least a one night stand. Having sex is on his bucketlist. Haha. He might see if Rob can help him out. The smooth treat a lady right approach from Zac Daly didn't really work out for him.

His death...does anyone have any big plots where they need a casualty? I think it would just be really tacky for me to run a plot specifically for him to get iced.

XANDROS: LOL RIGHT. I want to try and have him to more stuff with the Banders as well as the Magic fac people (hi Phoebus). That's about it. I kinda forgot he was supposed to be involved with the Birds of Prey. It's really weird because I can get super juiced off stuff like a massive Jackie fight or the Zombie slaying but follow-up is hard as hell.

BILLY: Not much plot that I'm initiating for him. He has Godfrey to deal with and his relationship with Vera that will be tested (thanks guys!) by a bunch of bullshit. There's also BHH bro stuff going on as well as fights with the ELE. Neither of which I really know what is going on, I just know they will be happening.

He's gone through some pretty heavy maturation highs and lows and I think he will continue his path of becoming a real man or whatever.

TRISH: She really flew off the handle into Domi Crazytown at the end of last term didn't she? I hope there won't be another one of those episodes this term. But it will probably be the case. Oh well.

I kinda failed on doing stuff with Trish and Joe. This will be the only time to do it. I think she is going to continue being competitive and ribbing him for all his Joeness. She still does have a little bit of a crush. Whether things develop further than that I do not know.

There is also a fucked up idea I have of Trish killing her own dad because of all the stuffhe's put her through over the years and her subsequent trying to cover it up.

In a shock to no one, I bit the bullet and quit Haven (deja vu?). I have been struggling with doing that for a while. I like my characters, and the players are great I just didn't have any drive to do anything. So instead of sitting on some major chars, I decided to let them go to someone who could do a better job actually playing them.

Sorry I got you all excited just to let you down. I'm a piece of shit, I know.

Hello friends! As the subject says. This is a post about Earth's Mightiest.

I am pleased as punch with those of you that have shown some interest in my little dog and pony game. I've been doing a lot of reading for it, since... I'm not as familiar with the older stuff as I am with the new. I'm more about making sure the characters are consistent personality-wise than making sure that every bit of history is followed to the T.

Anyway, that is not the point of the post. But October is fast approaching and I haven't heard from a lot of you about what we're gonna be doing with your characters. So... please come talk to me about stuff. I like talking about stuff!

I can also help you get some comics if you need them for like research shit or whatever. I've hooked up most people with stuff.
